Help Save Them

The marina pavilions are riddled with cracks, chips, and gashes. The Parks Department, which owns them, is aware of their condition and is currently investigating what it would take to restore them, but it wouldn't hurt if Parks officials got a little nudge to let them know that there are people out there who care about the pavilions and want them to be made a high priority. If you'd like to make your voice heard, try contacting these folks:

Also: Flushing Meadows Corona Park, which the Candelas are part of, has its own non-profit foundation, which welcomes financial contributions (hey, who wouldn't?). We've been too busy with the rest of this project to coordinate anything with them, but we suspect they'd be thrilled to accept targeted donations or other gestures of support for the Candelas. You can contact them here.

There is also a group of residents who support the park called Friends of Flushing Meadows Corona Park. You can find out more about them at friendsoffmcp.org.
